History

I started my work in the vineyard back in 1974, thus joining a long family line of wine growers, on both my mother's and father's side.

The oldest documents prove that my ancestors had been in the wine growing and making since at least the 17th century. Successive generations have laid their foundations on the hillsides of Saint-Andelain, in the heart of the Pouilly sur Loire wine growing area. This limited area of clayey flint soil is crucial to good grape growing, and this is where PouilIy Fume finds its unique character; which is appreciated by and known to wine connoisseurs throughout the world.

Over the past 30 years or more I have retained the size of the vineyard to protect the terroir element and not dilute its characteristics.
